West Palm Beach, FL - Anna O. Javarone, 94, of West Palm Beach Florida, formally of Gloversville, NY and Italy passed away peacefully in her sleep with her family by her side on Saturday, September 2, 2023 in Stuart, FL.
Anna was born on December 26, 1928, the only child of Ernesto and Lucia (Solimeno) Oggetto in Torre Annunziata, Italy.
In May of 1948, Anna came to the United States (alone) at the age of 19, as a war bride, to begin her new American adventure.
On July 3, 1948 she married Anthony V. Javarone at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church in Gloversville, NY. They shared 49 1/2 years together, before his passing on December 28, 1997.
Her time on earth was spent in her faith in God and her devotion to family. One of Anna’s many contributions was volunteering within her church community and for her children’s schools, St. Francis de Sales, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, and Bishop Burke Catholic High. She also had a deep love of animals (especially dogs) and rescued many throughout her lifetime. Anna had an incredibly strong and impressive work ethic and was part of the historic glove making industry in Gloversville. Her respect for education was something she treasured and emulated for her children. Anna went back to school to pursue her Associate Degree and followed the nursing profession in her grandmother, Sabina Piccioli’s footsteps. Upon retirement, she and her husband spent winters in Stuart, FL. After his passing, Anna would spend more time in Florida. She also enjoyed time at her home in Springfield, MO where she spent the spring and early summer months near her two daughters and their families. Her autumns were spent in her hometown of Gloversville.
Anna kept young by playing bridge, singing in her church choir, taking ballroom dancing lessons, oil painting, and reading over 500 books. She became an accomplished dancer and enjoyed many cruises dancing away! She began her painting again as she was a talented artist. She painted over 30 original paintings that are now gracing the homes of her children and grandchildren. Anna loved life and embraced it with joy! She was full of vitality, positivity and laughter. She had great life-long friends and never met a stranger. Anna loved to travel and explore the world. She left a legacy of love for her family and friends. We are eternally grateful. Her love and optimism will forever remain in our hearts.
