Born in Hapeville, Georgia, Mr. Morgan had previously lived in South Carolina, Indiana, North Carolina, and Tennessee before relocating to the Treasure Coast in 1981.
He graduated from Southern Wesleyan University in Central, South Carolina in 1945 with a degree in Theology. He went to Indiana Wesleyan University and received another degree in History. He went on to receive a Master's Degree in Education from the University of North Carolina.
Mr. Morgan was ordained in the Wesleyan Methodist Church and was a minister in that church for 30 years, pastoring churches and teaching in the public schools of North Carolina and Georgia. He supervised the building of two churches. Mr. Morgan was ordained in the Bible Methodist Church 40 years ago and has been a minister and a teacher. He was a member of Hobe Sound Bible Church in Hobe Sound.
Mr. Morgan also thoroughly enjoyed gardening and reading, in addition to his weekly breakfast meetings at McDonalds with his friends. He also enjoyed working as a volunteer for Hope International Missions in Hobe Sound.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce of Hobe Sound, FL; son, Kevin of Providence, RI; step son, Stephen P. Frederick of Hobe Sound, FL; step daughter, Sheila F. Thomas (Orlan) of Port St. Lucie, FL; step son, Larry Frederick (Anita) of Blountsville, AL; stepson, Kendall Frederick (Jenn) of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren, Heidi, Heather (Frank), Christy, Wesley, Wendy (Glenn), Danielle (Brent), Nathaniel, Charity (Nathan) , Ethan(Jerri), Brandon(Gloria), Chelsea (Michael), Alana, and Kira; great grandchildren, Hannah, Emma, Franklin, Oliver, Elijah, Xavier, Leah, Dean, Jude, Gemma, Luke, Claire, Brody, Brayden, Kathryn, Alex, Dawson, Carson, Macy, Mackenzie, Mollie. Mr. Morgan was predeceased by his parents, Marvin and Carrie Morgan; his first wife, Treva and his sisters, Kathryn and Carolyn.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 from 11:00am to 12:00pm at Hobe Sound Bible Church in Hobe Sound, Florida with a funeral service to begin at 12:00pm. Interment will follow at Fernhill Memorial Gardens in Stuart.
