Rocco Joseph Donofrio

Rocco Donofrio 72 passed away on February 11, 2022 after having lung cancer. He was born in the Bronx and moved to Stony Point when he was three. He graduated from Haverstraw high school in 66. Rocco joined the army and was deployed to Vietnam. He married Lynn Marsden on April 16, 1972.

Rocco loved to fish in his Ranger bass boat in the 70’s. He retired from NYNEX at the age of 48. After retirement he started playing golf five days a week, he was a member of the Patriot Hills Men’s Club and Tuesday night league and made great friends who were good to him. They took many cruises together and he loved them. He was also a member of VFW Post 130 in Thiells.

He was predeceased by his parents Eugene Donofrio and Anna (Felice) Donofrio. He is survived by his two brothers, Michael (Diane) Donofrio from Valley Cottage; and Eugene (Marcia) Donofrio from Montrose. As Well as many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday February 16th from 3-7pm at Michael J Higgins Funeral Home; 73 North Liberty Drive, Stony Point NY. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday in Higgins Funeral Home at 10am. Interment to follow at Fred Loescher Veterans Cemetery.
