Robert E. Sullivan

Robert “Bob” E. Sullivan of Stony Point, NY passed away peacefully on March 14, 2012 at Villa Marie Claire, Saddle River, NJ. Bob is survived by his loving wife and best friend Virginia “Ginger” Sullivan of Stony Point, NY, three children, Robert Sullivan of Stony Point, NY, Lynn and Joseph Murphy of Newport, NY and Mark and Lisa Sullivan of West Haverstraw, NY. Bob leaves behind eight grandchildren: Mark, Suzanne, Robert, Cali, Jacqueline, Danielle, Kyle and Angela. Bob also has four great-grandchildren: Dominic, Haylie, Leroy and Abigail. Bob proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, is retired from the New York City Police Department and the US Post Office. After his retirement Bob drove a school bus for Haverstraw Transit. Bob was a volunteer fireman with Wayne Hose Company in Stony Point, NY for 45 years, serving many of those years as the assistant treasurer. Friends may call at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Home, Route 9W, Stony Point, NY on Sunday, March 18 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Immaculate Conception Church, John St., Stony Point, NY on Monday, March 19 at 11am, with a private cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions in his memory may be made to Wounded Warrior Project at woundedwarriorproject.org.
