Rita Ricciardi, life-long resident of Rockland County, passed away on Sunday, June 2, 2013. She was born on February 6, 1918 in Haverstraw, NY. She was the wife of Anthony Ricciardi (who predeceased her in 2005) and loving mother to Rita Pelcak of New Jersey and Rickey of North Carolina. She is also survived by her 5 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Rita served in Civil Service during WWII driving trucks but took great pride in driving the Colonel around in his private Jeep at Camp Shanks.
Family will receive visitors on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Home, Stony Point, NY. Funeral mass will take place on Saturday at St. Mary's Church at 11am, burial to follow at Fred Loescher Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Rita's name to St. Mary's Church, 46 Conklin Avenue, Sharp St., Haverstraw, NY 10927.
