Janice Lorraine VanPelt

Janice Lorraine Van Pelt, age 91, of Stony Point, NY passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern, NY. She was born on January 5, 1931 in Haverstraw, NY to William and Beatrice (Rehn) Helbig.

Janice is predeceased by her 7 siblings; Bernie Helbig, William Helbig, Dorothy Yaniga, Adelaide Ewald, Shirley Zenn, Adele Macaulay, and Barbara Hoyle.Janice is survived by her husband Lawrence of 65 years; her four children, Deborah Van Pelt, Lawrence Van Pelt Jr (wife Amy), Sandra Blythe (husband Brent) and Jill Van Pelt; her seven grandchildren, Brent Blythe (wife Shirly), Brooke Herman (husband Max), Brittany Blythe (fiancé Ryan), Matthew Van Pelt (wife Erica), Elliott Van Pelt (wife Christine), Jason Van Pelt, and Sarah Van Pelt; five great-grandchildren, Bryce Blythe, Devin Blythe, Willow Herman, Adeline Van Pelt, and Nora Van Pelt.

Friends, family, and others whose lives Janice touched are invited to the Higgins Funeral Home in Stony Point, NY for viewings on Thursday, September 15, 2022 from 7-9pm and Friday, September 16, 2022 from 11-12pm, Funeral service from 12-1pm followed by burial at Mt. Repose Cemetery in Haverstraw, NY.
