  I met Billy on  a Monday morning.
He was hired at J.V industries in Spruce Grove. 

Earl Northcott had called me into the office.
Bobby, Billy, Billy, Bobby.
That is how I recall Cory Anderson introducing Billy and I.

There was a human tank in front of me.!!

  Earl explained Billy was new to the 
welding world and we were going to apprentice Billy from the ground up.
Earl was not kidding, Billy was new to all things welding.
  I indentured Billy McCabe and after burning his hand tatts a time or lots,  after a few thumb tappings on himself, and even after pushing NHL great Paxton Schulte around the shop one most memorable lunch break , you did it Billy.

  13 years of welding, "lets help Barb build", a few down stairs beers, the odd flea market shopping , and of course, your outstanding promotion of my family restaurant (Beach Corner), well what can I say, I miss you every day! You were a SOLID friend from the minute we met.

From the moment I met Billy, he made me feel like family, like I’d known him forever. He believed in my business that I was trying to get off the ground and supported it immensely. Billy no words can come close to explaining the impact you had in mine and my son Tyler’s life. You were always there with your words of wisdom, huge smile and even bigger hugs. I know Tyler will always remember what you taught him and I’m extremely greatful that you played such a big part in his life. You were an amazing role model to him. I met Billy way back when in the early 2000s when we were in Sask Pen together and we were always good friends. My last time i was with em was at the Benni Benassi concert at WEM years ago where we had a great time even though we hadnt seen each other in forever. We walked different paths always but yet stayed in contact. I miss just chillin and having a drink with the man and i hope that you are resting my friend. Say hi to Cody and Z when you make it there. Ill be along soon

I was first introduced and met through a mutual friend at a gathering. 
He always had the best advice, my personal fav was "YOU GOTTA BE TOUGH AS NAILS BRYAN!" The world lost a tru gem. Sending my heartfelt condolences to all the family and brotherhood.  💚🤘💎👑🍻

I met this man some 32 years ago at the old stomping grounds, c.i. west tavern. The way I met him is he had gotten into a fight with, then a friend of mine, Billy got suckered and that was the last shot he got, after this friend had left Billy came up to me and said a few nice words to me and bought me a beer and we became better friends then I ever was with the other guy I was with at the time. What I'm saying is from day 1 Billy hamc McCabe was always the man that didn't want anything from you he, to me was always the one to offer me something, and the bottom line is the best thing I ever got from him was his friendship, love, respect, honor, and all else good, he was and is a true inspiration to me and a person I will never forget, or his family's. R.I.P. MY FRIEND, YOUR FAVORITE INDIAN PAUL MORIN LOVES YOU FOREVER AND A DAY. ITS NOT GOODBYE JUST ILL SEE YOU IN THE ETERNAL LIFE.

When something happens to someone who was so much larger than life, someone who filled a room when he entered it, someone loved by so many ... it leaves you speechless.

Billy was Always there for me and I did my best to do what I could for him. He always had strong advise and a kind word. We had a lot of great times as I’m sure many of us remember.
It’s so sad we won’t be blessed with his love and we won’t hear that voice again. So much love to Billy, His Family, and His brothers.


Billy was just a pup when we met, 22 and we worked together at the stony plain bar. 
My one memory of Billy was when he came into my video store late one night and found my staff sleeping on the counter.   He came back to the store the next day and told me he scared the crap out of the young lad to wake him up he had to bang on the counter. 
Billy was a humble soul true to his core and would give and do whatever he could for the people he cared about in his life. I admired him and care about him as a true  little brother. 
My prayers and condolences to his family , he will be truly missed.

Billy (My B), this all seems so wrong and like a bad dream that I keep trying to wake up from. I will never forget you, not for a single moment. You were one hell of a man a one hell of a dad. I think anyone and everyone who knew you, should be proud that they got to know such a tough man, but also such a sweet soul; no matter who it was. 
I will forever keep you in my memories and I will try my hardest to keep Mason in my life forever. I know she’s going to make your proud one day because you’re a father to 2 amazing children who are going to do great things because of you!

Billy ive known for just over 15 years .. and has had the biggest impact on my life. I wasnt always the best me he knew i could be. But he always remined me that there was a better life out there for me i just had reach for it. Billy was my and always will be my best friend and always was by my side, from making sure i never missed a school event, birthday, special occasion and never showing up empty handed my kids always have and will forever call u Uncle Billy. From sitting next to me or at least on the phone with my mom to make sure i was still breathing when we all thought they were going to lose me to pneumonia. My weekend out from rehab he opened his door with open arms and the proud look on his face ill never forget. Every major mile stone ive had in the past 15 years Billy was right there or at least a phone call away. I just wish i was able to join my parents and daughter when they came to surprise visit him in March but my 'we got your back Billy Mack' shirt he sent back for me ill treasure forever. I always loved Billy and always will. Till we meet again ML&R xoxox

I've know Billy since the year 2000. We were crazy back then! I lost touch with him for quite sometime amd when we reunited we were both happy and healthy and smiling. I was so very proud of the guy he turned put to be. Still loving amd caring as always, he made me feel safe and always answered my calls and texts. He was so fun to be around and people always gathered around him. He will ne missed dearly!

I met Billy when he was a cocky football player at Spruce Grove Comp in 1987... 
true to Billy fashion he always used to show up at my house to say hi, when I least expected it! I remember him showing up one time on a quad when he was 16 to my house to take me for a ride! 
Billy found me 5 years ago and our high school friendship just continued on. He would contact me often to make sure I was good.
That shows how good of a mom raised him. 

I will miss you forever my friend and along with everyone here I too am crying tears for the loss of you.

Dear Aunt Barb, I got to meet your Billy for the first time in far too many years, last October when he came back to Smiths Falls to see the family.  I walked up to him...reintroduced myself and was instantly embraced by the warmest, most genuine hug by my larger than life,  cousin.  Billy and I chatted like it had been days since we'd seen each other....it had been at least 40 years.  Warm. Genuine.  Larger than life and a heart to match. Gentleman.  That's how I'll remember him.  You raised a remarkable son. RIP cuz

Shocking to know you're gone.  Loved and known by many.  Gone too soon and life so fragile that even in your strength you couldn't stay.  My heart breaks for your children, mother, siblings, family, employees and friends.  The pain too hard to comprehend for many.  I prayed long and hard that day along with many through phone lines and other communication.  I know there is peace in my spirit that you made it to your eternal home in peace. My continued prayer is comfort and peace to your family and friends - know that I have your back in that arena. May your family and friends be engulfed by wonderful memories as they continue through this horrible season of grief. Love  and condolences to all. 

I'm very sorry to hear about Billy. Even tho I didn't spend a lot of time with him , he was always very kind and happy when I did see him. Sending my love and condolences to his family. May he rest in peace .

Jesus Billy- it all seems too surreal to be true, but I keep getting told that it is. You lived life large and touched the lives of so many people that you will be missed by masses mourning in an ocean of tears. You were  a dear sweet friend who showed Bear and I love and respect and kindness and for that, you earned our love. You will forever be in our hearts and you left one hell of a legacy behind my friend, so rest in paradise until we meet again. 

My deepest sympathies go out to the family of Billy McCabe. Billy will always be remembered for his great support for children's charity's in Grande Prairie, AB. I got to know Billy through the years and he was always happy to engage in any type of discussion with a smile on his face. We will truly miss his visits to Grande Prairie, AB. Billy will never be for gotten and I'll proudly wear my "I Know Billy" tee shirt as a testament of the man he was.

Billy was always welcomed in my home when he visited Ontario, he was always smiling , laughing and a joy to be around. He had great affection for his cousins and liked to know what was going on in their lives.He will be remembered with love. RIP dear Bill.
