Sue passed peacefully in Edmonton on January 9, 2018 after a long, brave battle with cancer. She will be greatly missed by her children from her blended family, Shannon (Brian), Sherri & Darren. "Nana Sue" was blessed with 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Also to mourn her passing are siblings: Peter (Dianne), Helen, John (Jean), Mary (Bill), Dianna and Evelyn (Roy); in-laws Ken, Lloyd, Beth, Allan, Nancy and families including numerous nieces and nephews.
Sue was born in Swift Current and raised in Springfield, Sask, the 3rd of 8 in a humble, hard working farm family. Being one of the older siblings, when Sue left home to join the workforce, she would often return home with gifts purchased with her hard earned income for the younger ones. Thoughtfully keeping in touch with her parents and siblings through letters, pictures, phone calls and visits as often as she could. Her lengthy phone conversations with those she loved are a cherished memory.
Sue was a worker, she worked full-time till her retirement. Her and Bob always had a garden, a well-groomed yard and delighted in sharing the fruits of their labor. She enjoyed crafting, sewing and in recent years was all about her cooking shows with her friends and family benefitting from her newest favorite recipe. No one could accuse Sue of idle fingers.
Sue and Bob loved to travel, planning at least a couple of trips a year. There are several mementos in her home of their many adventures. She was active in her church, speaking fondly of lunch dates with her "Soul Sisters".
Since losing Bob in 2013, Sue was forever grateful for the kindness and assistance provided by neighbors Grant and Sylvia.
Sue was predeceased by her husband Robert (Bob), sons: Nolan, Terry and Rob, sister Margaret, parents John and Margaret, brother-in -law Nels and nephew Trevor.
Sue ia remembered with love and admiration as a fabulous homemaker and gracious host.
As per Sue's wishes, a graveside inurnment will take place at a later date.
