June 28, 1935 – February 19, 2023
Lorne Maxwell Gould, age 87 passed away peacefully on February 19, 2023 at the Good Samaritan Care Centre with his family by his bedside.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Betty Lou Gould; daughters Louise (Leonard) Frostad and Bonny Mildenberger; grandchildren Samuel (Sarah) Frostad, Benjamin Frostad, Zachary Mildenberger (fiancé Rachael Kugler) and Spencer Mildenberger; brother John Gould and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, Oliver Robert and Hazel Gould; sisters Dorothy (Milt) Wiggins, Mary (John) VanSprundel; brothers Art (Edith), Ewart, Clarence (Eva), Cliff (Helen), Lloyd (Ruth), Stan (Ruth), Roy (Kathleen, Lula), Frank (Ruth) and Garth; Sisters-in-law, Vickie Gould and Anne Elliott; brothers-in-law George McKellar and Duncan McKellar and parents-in-law Louis and Winona McKellar.
Lorne will lovingly be remembered by all those whose lives he touched with his quiet demeanor and caring heart.
“I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day – and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.” 2 Timothy 4:7-8
As a family, we would like to thank the staff at Copper Sky who lovingly cared for Lorne during the four years he lived there and called it home. He grew to love many of his care workers and he looked forward to seeing them. We would also like to thank the nursing staff at the Misericordia Hospital, Laurier House Lynnwood and the Good Samaritan Stony Plain Care Centre for the gentle and kind care given to Lorne in his final days.
A special thanks to those who enriched Lorne’s life by faithfully visiting him in his later years.
A Celebration of Life in honor of Lorne will be held on Monday, February 27, 2023 – 1 PM at Lighthouse Pentecostal Church, 49 Boulder Blvd, Stony plain, AB T7Z 1V6
