I was just thinking of Johnny the other day.  We spent a lot of time together as  young kids .  Our parents took turns driving us to swim lessons in Rosetown and piano lessons in Biggar at my Aunt's house.
Swimming was short lived as there was a polio outbreak but piano lasted up to 3 years.    We also played in the trees where I made a house and I seem to remember guns and holsters were involved.  I know we climbed trees and took snacks to the house . He was always a part of my simple birthday parties .    We reunited very rarely in the adult years as we went our separate ways , living far apart.    My  last memory of Johnny was at Grandma Clemence's 100th birthday .  We always had an easy " connection" and I was very fond of him.  
He was the childhood playmate that was always fun and kind.

Distance in adulthood kept us apart but didn't change my fondness for my cousin Johnny.  We shared relatives, playtime and birthdays at our respective farms. He was always fun to be with and kind in manner and speech. Many special occasions were spent at his farm as his grandparents were my great grandparents . His Dad and mine took turns driving us to Biggar for piano lessons.  I count myself lucky to have shared  a childhood with him.


 John was a close neighbor and school friend growing up in the Kingsland district where we both attended the local elementary  one room school nearby .

Fern and family , we are so saddened to hear of Johnny' s passing .As many know ,Johnny and I virtually grew up together but regrettably lost track of each other over the years.

Sorry to hear of Johnny's passing. Johnny was a little older than I, but he was always willing to put up with younger ones. We all grew up together in the same community, went to the same school - same parties as teenagers, same dances. Johnny was always a little shy in a way, well mannered, and had a great sense of humor. I'm sure you his family, will miss him a great deal.

Please accept my sincere sympathy on Johnny’s passing. I really enjoyed my times with his mom. I can still hear her hearty laugh!!
