Dearest Lawrence, Jessica and Ryan....I was so saddened and shocked when I heard about your Mom's  passing far, far too soon.  My fondest memories are of you and Emily, 'the triplets', riding bikes and exploring the unbuilt cul-de-sac, day and night, while your Mom and I kept watch as you explored, played constantly and grew so quickly. There was always a jug of juice at both houses, while your Mom and I kept watch (and snuck in the occasional beer on a hot day). I will truly, truly miss her!  Life gets busy and we had just talked about having a long overdue visit recently. Janet's incredible organization and creativity and tackling renovations -so inspiring! Who else would get a mitre saw for Mothers Day!? I look down the street toward your home and am so very saddened and think of you often. Everyone around her knew how deeply she loved her family, and you have that legacy of love as you move forward through life. My thoughts are with you all, and know I am but a few houses away. May peace be with you....

In the early 1980's, Janet became a member of my chosen family. We shared precious experiences during her university years, and it turned out that they brought not only a degree, but a wonderful son-in-law, Laurence. Your wedding, celebrated in our home and garden, was a joyous occasion for us all.  
Ryan and Jessica, we all loved you before you were born, and delighted in your every smile and gurgle! You became wonderful companions, playing with the big blocks and Pierre, crawling through the tunnel in our garden, entertaining us with your stories, and making us proud of your accomplishments. 
Janet was a beloved granddaughter to my parents, Percy and Sylvia Smith, giving them the opportunity to be grandparents and great grandparents.  It was Janet who gave Sylvia the nick name "GG", and who was a good match for her at cards.
At Christmas and on every special occasion, we looked forward to Janet's company and to her cooking and baking- especially  the  water chestnut appetizers, and asparagus sandwiches- all made and packaged with the love of her family in mind.  Her gifts were always  exquisitely wrapped, and her special crepes were the highlight of  Christmas Eve dinners.     
Ron and Ramona- Janet was your "little sister" and much loved. Your children will miss their affectionate Auntie Janet .    
For all of us, it is hard to accept that Janet has been so suddenly taken from us. 
As we reflect on the patterns of her life- her devotion to Laurence, Jessica and Ryan,  her love of animals, her skill at games,  organization and renovations,  and her kindness to so many people- we realize how deeply she will be missed.  
Janet will always hold a special place in my heart. I hold you close at this very sad time, and in the months and years ahead.

I had the pleasure of working with Janet at TELUS Mobility and just need to say how sad and shocked I was to hear the news.  She was delightful to work with and always had a smile on her face. Laurence, Ryan and Jessica,  I am so incredibly sad and am still having difficulty believing that she is gone.  I will always remember Janet as a very loving, loyal, and devoted mother and wife.  She was an excellent event planner and task master.  She also had a flair for the artistic. We will miss her very much. Laurence, Jessica and Ryan, It is with deep sadness that I write these words. I hope you find strength in the near future to carry you through.  I remember once phoning Janet she had just completed giving the 3 little dogs their (as she called it) manicures and pedicures. She was so proud and pleased with herself. I had the pleasure of keeping in touch with her every couple of weeks ... especially since she had her stroke late last year. We have lost another key person in our family. My dear Niece, Janet Leduc was a sweet mother, friend to all.  Although I didn't see her for long periods of time she was always the same, and she
