After a courageous battle with cancer, Detlef passed away peacefully on October 18, 2024 at the age of 62 years.
Detlef will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his loving wife Gabi; his daughters Lies & Elisa; his step-daughter Grit; his step-son Sven and their families.
Detlef grew up in Germany and immigrated to Canada with his wife in 2008. He was an agricultural and motorcycle mechanic by trade. He will be remembered for his passion for motorcycles and everything mechanical and gas powered. Detlef raced dirt bikes for over 50 years, attending many national and international races. He raced successfully in Canada even up to a week before his cancer diagnosis.
As per Detlef’s wishes, a cremation will take place and no formal service will be held. A private family celebration will take place at a later date.
