Heaven has gained a beautiful new angel as we announce the passing of Debbie Blackburn of Stony Plain, AB at the young age of 61 years. Debbie will forever be remembered for her contagious laugh, her nurturing spirit and her devotion to family.
Debbie was born in Edmonton, AB to parents Erwin and Gloria Hemmerling. She met the love of her life, Len, married in 1987 and moved to Stony Plain where she established her roots. Debbie was happiest surrounded by family, especially when on yearly family vacations or simply gathered around the dinner table on Sundays.
Debbie will always be loved and remembered by her loving husband Len; children: Marshall (Jacqui), Mackenzie (Landon), Madison, Morgan and Mardy; grandchildren: Nolen and Grace; sister: Evelyn (Rob) Van Dolder; brothers: Rick (Jo-Ann) Hemmerling and Chris (Laura) Hemmerling as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and too many friends to list. She was predeceased by her parents Erwin and Gloria.
Her wings were ready, our hearts were not.
A private Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church on Saturday, October 2 at 11:00 am with Father Paul Moret as Celebrant; please visit https://www.legacytributevideo.ca/deborah-irene-blackburn/ to view the livestream. A private inurnment to follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
