(nee Walz)
It is with great sadness and mourning that we announce the sudden, peaceful passing of Chantelle, at the age of 45 years old, in her home in Stony Plain, Alberta on November 23, 2017. She will forever be remembered for her hardy, infectious laugh and the way she put smiles on people’s faces. She was always supportive and welcomed every one with open arms.
Channy graduated from Father Lacombe High School (Calgary) and worked for CIBC Bank for 10 years. She became a stay-at-home mom and cared for her two beloved daughters, Brooklyn & Brianna. Her interests included golfing, working out, shopping, sun-tanning and hanging out with friends and family. She was diagnosed with MS (Multiple Sclerosis) in 2009 and continued to give back by raising money and participating in the MS Walk Tour.
Chantelle is predeceased by her grandparents Paul & Rose Schnurer and Nicholas & Katherine Walz. She is survived by her daughters, Brooklyn and Brianna Gilson, parents Frank & Doreen Walz, brother Wes & Kerry-Anne Walz and nephews and nieces, Kelvin, Jaedyn, Brehna, Cheyne, and Wrexyn Walz. Channy also had numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
The Celebration of Her Life will be held on Wednesday, November 29th at 11:00 AM at Holy Trinity Church in Spruce Grove, Alberta, with a reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the MS Society of Canada.
