Bruce is survived by his loving wife Tina; his children: Lucas Currie, Marianne Currie, Chloe (Kyle) Winnicky and Skye (Chris) Waggoner; his grandchildren: Benson, Fynn, Grey, Wren and Radek; his two brothers Wayne and Gary (Sandy) Currie as well as numerous other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Doris and Stewart Currie.
Those who knew him understood that Bruce's mission in life was to find laughter. Regardless the situation, Bruce payed little mind to who became the butt-end of his joke - he would do anything to draw a smile or a chuckle, even at his own expense.
Raised in Sudbury, Ontario alongside his two older brothers, Bruce's first love was hockey. He played high school hockey and eventually Junior B, and was quick to regale one with stories of his myriad scraps. If you were lucky enough to have been on the receiving end of his toothy grin you'd know he even managed to lose the same one as his idol, Bobby Clarke! After a successful stint in insurance sales, Bruce graduated from New Liskeard Agricultural College and moved west to Alberta to start his career in the animal nutrition industry. Bruce's career became his pride and joy, and he enjoyed continued success over 4 decades touring the province.
He was a devoted husband, father and an incomparable grandfather. In the winter, Bruce was actively involved in coaching the hockey teams of his children, and for many years held season tickets to the Red Deer Rebels. He also enjoyed hunting for deer with his best friend Cliff. In the summertime, Bruce spent most of his afternoons on the golf course with his wife, his kids or his customers. He was a simple man who enjoyed country music, Westerns, spending time with his grandchildren, as well as the finer things in life, like fudgesicles, Gatorade, and cheesestrings.
Bruce was a man in whom you'd never leave his presence without a smile. He will be deeply missed by all his friends and family and those who knew him.
