Jack passed away peacefully on February 20, 2021 at the age of 101 years. He was born on August 11, 1919 in Auburn, WA. His loving wife, Mildred in 1995 and son, Gerald in 1983, preceded him in death. His 3 children, Dr. Kenneth (Karen) Natsuhara, Elaine Watanabe and Roger (Karen) Natsuhara survive Jack. He has 8 grandchildren- Dr. Kyle Natsuhara (Shannon), Dr. Kelsey Natsuhara (Dr. Troy VanDerGroen), Christine Ho (Addison), Shelley Watanabe, Kari Hori (Nick), Bryant, Brent and Brandon Natsuhara. Jack also has 2 great grandchildren- Noah & Hannah Natsuhara. Jack was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He loved being with his family and was very proud of each and every one of them.
After being interned at Tule Lake during World War II, he, his mother Kinu and brother Tom settled in Northern California. Jack began a successful 38-year career with Southern Pacific Railroads where he rose to become Road Master of his district until his retirement in 1983.
He and Mildred were very active at the Stockton Buddhist Church. Jack won many awards and honors for his extensive volunteer work at the church.
The family would like to thank Oakmont for their outstanding care during Jack’s final years. We would like to acknowledge Maria, Mark & Kailee for their kindness and care during Jack’s time there. The family would especially like to thank Annette, his wonderful hospice nurse (Care Plus Hospice) for her generous and loving care of Jack.
Because of the Covid pandemic, there will be a private family service. In the future, when we are able to gather safely, the family will have a Celebration of Life and Memorial service at the Stockton Buddhist Church.
