Wilmart Ellison was born on May 9,1938 to Sanders and Della Ellison in Strong, Arkansas. In March 1956 at the age of eighteen he joined the United States Air Force following in his older brother’s lead enlisting in the military. He completed his military career in March 1962 with an Honorable Discharge.
In December 1962, Will married his first wife Cecile Martin. On April 16,1966 they welcome his only daughter Michelle Lynn from this union.
He further his education by attending Merritt College in Oakland and San Jose City College in San Jose. For 30 years he had a long fulfilling career as a machinist in the Santa Clara Valley.
Will love sports from boxing, baseball, basketball, golf, horse racing, tennis and football especially the Raiders.
In August 1979, he married Cheryl Spiller until her passing in April 2014. This union was graced with a stepson and stepdaughter.
In 2000, Will moved to Stockton from San Jose. He attended Progressive Baptist Church which later changed its name to Progressive Community Church. He served on the Deacon Board, Welcome Committee and the Accounting Committee.
In March 2021, he was married to Dolores Dorsey. They enjoyed spending time at Angels Camp and traveling to various locations. They shared companionship and fond memories to last a lifetime.
Will was proceeded in death by his wife Cheryl Ellison, his parents Sanders and Della Ellison, sisters Tina Rowland, Grace Thrower, Ola Pettis, brothers Virgil Ellison, Johnny Ellison and Willie Ellison.
Will leaves to cherish and celebrate his life, his wife Dolores Dorsey Ellison, his daughter Michelle Vincent (Gerald) of Stockton, CA, brother Sanders Ellison (Ann) of Pinole, CA, Sarah Allen of Berkeley, CA, stepson Maurice Spiller, Sr. (April) of Tracy, CA and Jenelle Spiller of Stockton, CA. He leaves three grandchildren Evan Ellison-Vincent, Eboni’ Vincent and Edmond and five step grandchildren. He leaves five great grandchildren and host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
