Tracy Robert Crawford March 11th, 1944 - January 14th, 2017 Tracy passed away peacefully at his home in Ripon, California on January 14, 2017. He was preceded in death by his beloved father and mother, Robert Laughlin Crawford (1951) and Mary Alice Logan Crawford (2006) originally of Abilene, Kansas. Proud of his Celtic back round, Tracy descended from Sir William Wallace (Brave Heart) on his father’s side and Amelia Earhart on his mother’s side. In his youth, he was a playful prankster, always the life of the party and was renown at San Mateo High School for his “basement parties“ and cruising the El Camino Real. After returning from the US Navy in 1967, where he served proudly in VP2, Squadron Six in the Vietnam War, Tracy was a member of many organizations for the betterment of his fellow man. He was a dedicated supporter of the “Thin Blue Line”. His motto was to “Leave things better than you found them.”, and he certainly did that, pushing himself to his limit on many occasions. If Tracy’s commitment to his community was his passion, Tracy’s wife, sons, daughters in law, and grandchildren were his world. He will be missed by his loving wife of 48 years, Barbara, their three sons Sean, Scott, and Ryan Crawford, their spouses and former spouses, Stephanie, Desiree and Joey Crawford and his eleven grandchildren Ryan Christopher, Hunter, Jacob, and Travis Crawford of San Antonio, Texas, Taylor Crawford of Long Beach , California, Chase and Camryn Crawford of Mountain House, California, Andrew, Aaron, Justin and Jordan Crawford of Manteca, California and many friends. Having lost his father in a fishing accident at seven years old, may Tracy be playing catch with his father in heaven. Interment is in the National Veteran’s Cemetery in Santa Nella, California.
