Stella Padilla Gil was born in French Camp, CA, on March 7, 1934 and passed away peacefully on April 2, 2022 surrounded by her family at the age of 88, in Stockton, CA in the home she raised her 6 children.
Stella was married to her late loving husband, Francisco Gil who passed in 2014, and now she will join him in Eternity.
Stella enjoyed being a homemaker to care for her family, large gatherings with family and friends, loved going to Reno, NV., to the Calneva, and road trips to visit family and friends.
Stella is preceded in death by her loving husband Francisco, sons Gilbert and David Vargas, father Pedro Padilla, mother Theresa Castro, brothers Manuel Ruiz and Peter Padilla.
Stella is survived by her son Paul (Ann) Vargas, daughters Theresa (Charles) Baker, Rachel and Marina Vargas, numerous grandkids, great-grandkids and great-great grandkids and many nieces and nephews, as well as great friends.
In Lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to Hospice of San Joaquin in honor of Stella. A viewing will be held on Monday, April 18, 2022 from 2-6pm followed by a rosary at 6pm at DeYoung Memorial Chapel, 601 N. California St. A Chapel service will be held on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at 11am at DeYoung Memorial Chapel followed by a committal at San Joaquin Catholic Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers are David Vargas, Jason Baker, Sesar Baker, Pedro Vargas, Curtis Luis and DJ Vargas.
