Sidney is survived by his brother Carl (Susan) Thomason of Coarse Gold, California, son James (Linda) Thomason of Stockton, California, son Donald (Alice) Thomason of Bakersfield, California, son Ronald Widdoes of Stockton, California; 12 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife Loma Thomason and son Sidney W. Thomason.
Sidney was born on January 10, 1927 in Eros, Arkansas to Sidney and Roxie Thomason. He married Loma Balay in 1949. After moving to Stockton, Sidney began working for Marley cooling tower as a Superintendent. Over the next 5 years the couple welcomed 4 boys into their home. His children remember him as a man of few words with a wealth of knowledge, who encouraged them to pursue their goals.
Sidney was an accomplished musician and auto mechanic and often preformed for friends and family. He was a giving man who always thought of others first and himself last. He was passionate about music. He was a great Christian man.
A Funeral Service is scheduled at 11:00 a.m. on October 8, 2018 at DeYoung Memorial Chapel with a reception to follow at Home Church, 11451 West Lane, Lodi, California 95242. Aaron Thomason will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Sidney’s life. The family would like to thank Kindred Hospice for their time and care.
