Russell A. Knight Sr.

Russell Angelo Knight Sr. was born on September 4, 1937 in Bakersfield, CA. to Angelo and Caroline Knight. Russell was the oldest of 11 children. He had 6 sisters and 4 brothers. Evelyn Nored (deceased), Margaret Villanueva, Gloria Flores, Lydia Valtierra, Darlene Knight (deceased), and Patricia Flores Steve Knight (deceased), LeRoy Knight (deceased), Robert Knight, Leonard Knight. Russell leaves behind 4 children and 14 grandchildren. Children Louise (Lulu) Knight, Nunez Russell (Son-Son) Knight Jr., Andrea Knight Tabin, and Elizabeth (Liz) Knight Hoffman. Grandchildren Julian Chaires, Enrique Chaires, Adam Tabin, Emilio Tabin, Adria Dosty, Michael Knight, Christopher Tabin, Joshua Knight, Arissa Dosty,

Stephanie Hoffman, Andrue Tabin, Edward Tabin Jr., Andrew Knight, and Mia Knight.

Russell enlisted in the Army in 1955. He served 4 years in the military. He was employed for the same company for 52 years. He started working for California Cedar Products in 1961 and would continue to work for them until 2013. He was so used to working for so many years that when he finally retired, he would always say “I’m tired of being Retired. But I’m a Happy Camper”

Russell loved the water and enjoyed his boat and enjoyed boating on the Delta when he had the chance. He loved fishing and did that as much as he could. Russell will be missed by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
