Rex entered into eternal peace on May 15, 2014 after a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his Papa Rex Willis and niece Dixie Lindsey. He is survived by his grandmother Gertrude Lee; parents Donald and Geri Treece; son Anthony Treece, and sisters Rene Laniohan (Mark) and Gerae Lindsey (David). He was also a much beloved uncle to numerous nieces and nephews.
Rex was born in Stockton in June of 1965 at Dameron Hospital. He attended local schools and was a graduate of Tokay High School (Class of 1983). He received his A.A. degree from Delta Jr. College and later a B.S. in Criminal Justice from C.S.U. Sacramento.
When he was 19, he volunteered as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in Quebec (Canada) for two years. He proudly served his country as a member of The United States Navy Reserve. After graduating from college, he worked for a time as a police officer in Salt Lake City. He returned home to Stockton and worked with the local Yellow Cab Taxi for 15 years before opening his own car service. Over the years, many of his customers became like family to him. Right up until the very end he looked after their needs.
Many things motivated Rex throughout his life. Outside of his family, his other passion was the pursuit of learning. To all who knew him best, he was never out of reach of a good book. His personal library was his secret vanity.
To all of his loving family and true friends, he wanted to say thank you for all your love and support during the last years of his life. He will miss you all.
