He and his sister, Sophia, grew up as Navy Brats, and he loved to recall all of the different places they lived, his favorites being Brazil and Ireland. He was always grateful to have been so well-traveled as a child, and he carried his love for travel into adulthood. He was a big lover of family, and loved to bring them along on all of his trips around the country and the world.
After graduating high school at Tokay in 1979, he continued to live in Stockton, California, where he stayed for the rest of his life and started his family. He was blessed with his first daughter, Bethany, in 1986. He raised her with the help of his mom and dad and eventually with the help of Teresita (Terry), who he married in 1996. Michael and Terry were blessed with two more daughters: Alyssa, who was born in 1999, and Micaela, who was born in 2001. His daughter, Bethany, gave birth to his grandson, Anthony, in 2006, who he thoroughly enjoyed having at home with him after his daughters were grown. Michael and Terry have three more babies in heaven: Joseph, Paul, and Angel. Michael finally gets to meet the rest of his children and take care of them in God's Kingdom.
Michael had a strong work ethic and began working for San Joaquin County in 1990 until he retired 30 years later in 2020. While he worked, he also furthered his education and graduated from San Joaquin Delta College with an Associate's degree in business with high honors in 2010. He passed his work ethic on to all three of his daughters who work their hardest to continue his legacy.
Michael will continue to watch over all of his family members who are still with us. He was extremely proud to be a Sansone, and he would tell anyone who would listen how proud he is to be the "Papa" of his daughters and grandson. He is survived by his father, Michael; his sister, Sophia, along with her husband, Tom; his partner, Teresita; his three daughters, Bethany, Alyssa, and Micaela; his grandson, Anthony (and another grandchild on the way); his nephew, Gavin; and many other friends and family members who love him unconditionally and will miss him endlessly. He is blessed to be reunited with his mother, Carol, who passed in September of this year.
Michael had an unforgettable sense of humor and loved to make people laugh everywhere he went, even if they were complete strangers. His favorite joke would be to take his daughters into grocery stores and have them ask women if they were their new mommies.
There are countless stories that everyone who knows him will carry with them that exhibit Michael's love, selflessness, and sense of humor. Please feel free to continue to share these below so that all can reflect on Michael's life together.
Michael bravely fought his illness for over ten years, and passed away on October 24, 2023 at the age of 62. He has made such an impact on everyone he has every encountered, and we know he will never be forgotten.
