Marylou Morales, of Stockton, California, born on October 13, 1935 in Del Rio, Texas, to the late Rosario Rodriguez and the late Pedro Rodriguez, ascended to Heavenly glory at age 83 on January 1, 2019 in Lodi, California. Marylou was the beloved wife of the late Raymond Aceves Morales. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Esperanza Jimenez Ortega, Pauline Hurtado, and Stella Tays Lopez; and brothers, Romiro Rodriguez, Peter Rodriguez, Bobby Rodriguez, and David Rodriguez. Mary is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Diane Padilla; son, Steven Ray Morales; sister, Edna Ramos; grandchildren, Angela Morales, Moenique Padilla, and Raymond Padilla. After moving to Stockton at a very young age, Marylou graduated from Saint Mary's High School. She began her lifelong career in law enforcement with the Stockton Police Department as a motorcycle "meter maid"-the first female-and Latina-motorcycle officer of the city. Marylou then proceeded to become a Deputy Sheriff. "M&M"-as she was known was a Custody Services Officer at the Honor Farm. After retirement Marylou's passion focused on her faith and volunteerism, never missing Sunday mass. An exuberant member of the Choir, an Altar Guild member, and Bible Study participant. She would also contribute to the School Festival. Marylou did the same for Valenzuela and St. Luke's schools. Marylou was a founding member of the Latina Democratic Club with her sister Stella. Marylou was also a representative of the California Senior Legislature. Marylou was an election poll assistant. SI SE PUEDE! Marylou led a full, tremendous life, yet was always available to all. Quick, sharp and opinionated-no punches pulled. May we bask in her radiance eternally.
