Marjorie Hogue passed away peacefully November 1st in Modesto. Marjorie was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on May 14, 1923 and spent her early years in Taft, California. Marjorie married George LeRoy Hogue in 1944. They lived and raised their family in Taft. In 1961 the family moved to Stockton. LeRoy was an administrator for Davis and Lodi school districts. "Margie" worked for 23 years for Tillie Lewis Foods and Nugget, where she was known as the "candy lady" because she always had a bowl of candy at her desk and made her famous fudge for fellow coworkers birthdays. She was active in the Stockton Business and Professional Women's Association. Marge will always be remembered fondly by family, friends and all who knew her for her thoughtful cards and phone calls on birthdays, anniversaries, and holidays. She never forgot anyone. Marjorie was preceeded in death by her husband LeRoy and her son-in-law, Pat Young, in November 2009. She is survived by her son Martin Hogue (Anamaria) of Rohnert Park, her two daughters, Georgia Hogue (Annie Wood) of Cahuita, Costa Rica, and Lynn Young of Modesto, three granddaughters - Heather Hill of Thousand Oaks, Helene Hogue of Petaluma, Claire Browe of Santa Rosa and three great grandchildren - Sumner Hill, Lily Hill, and Lucca Browe. Marjorie's memorial service will be Saturday, December 2, at 12 p.m. at De Young Memorial Chapel, 601 California Street, Stockton.
