Lupe is survived by her daughter Pamela Weiand of Carlton, Oregon; son Robert Lopez of Sacramento, California; sister Sally Garcia of Pleasanton, California; Granddaughter Melissa Weiand of Carlton, Oregon; Grandson’s Phillip Weiand of Carlton, Oregon; Joseph Lopez of Sacramento and Anthony Lopez of Sacramento; Goddaughter Sonia Ochoa-Marchara of San Jose, California; Godson Bruce Garcia of Los Gatos, California; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband Joseph Stevens of Stockton; mother and father Selma Ochoa and Augustine Ochoa of Redwood City, California; and brothers Augustine of Las Vegas, Nevada; Raymond of Santa Clara, California and Adrian of Milpitas, California; son Dale of San Jose, California.
Lupe was born on April 2nd, 1930, in San Juan Bautista, California. She graduated from Sequoia High School in Redwood City. Lupe had a 35-year career in Semiconductor Fabrication. Shortly after marrying in 1995, Lupe and Joe moved to Stockton.
Lupe and Joe loved spending time together in their home, where she enjoyed reading, word searches and crosswords to exercise her mind and continue learning. Their second love was trips together to Jackson Rancheria, where they were both quite lucky. Lupe also attended mass at Presentation Catholic Church in Stockton.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to EWTN global Catholic network, a Catholic cable channel that Lupe watched every day. She was pleased that she could watch Mass every day on this channel and especially enjoyed Sister Angelica’s talks.
A visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at DeYoung Memorial Chapel. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 12:00 PM at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Stockton. Committal will follow Mass at San Joaquin Catholic Cemetery in Stockton. With a reception to follow the Committal at DeYoung Memorial Chapel.
