Filipino parents. She was preceded into death by her husband Frank R. Perez (married 58 yrs), her
parents Anastasio and Virgilia Bantillo, siblings Alice, Anthony, Angelina (Angel), Anastasio Jr. (Bo), Norma, Nancy (Lily), Ernie and great-grandchild Apollo Cristano Adams. She is survived by her sons Gary (Kathy), Ron, and Dean (Vicki); 5 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren plus numerous nieces and nephews.
Leatrice, known as Letty to many, was a final surviving Bantillo Family member and made her a wonderful
historical resource within the Filipino American Community. This position also had her being the last living
Charter Member of Trinity Presbyterian Church (80+ years). She was a dedicated and active servant of the Lord. She served on a myriad of committees for the Bethany Presbyterian Church, San Bruno, The First Filipino American United Church of Christ, San Bruno, and the Trinity Presbyterian Church, Stockton.
She served as an elected Deacon and Elder. She shared her God-given gift of music and love for playing
piano and singing serving as a choir member and as a Choir Director. Letty had a diversed career path while employed and during retirement. She worked for a total of 31 years in different federal government
agencies. She retired from the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency, San Francisco, Personnel Office
as Employee and Labor Relations Advisor after 15 years in 1987. At that time, Letty and Frank returned
to Stockton to continue their work in the church and community Letty was a founding member of Filipino
American National Historic Society, (FANHS) Stockton and The FANHS National Museum in Stockton, the only national Filipino American Museum in the United States.
She served as an officer and on the board of directors of each group. Her involvement in Wor. Teodora
Alonzo Lodge, #123 Legionarios Del Trabajo, Inc. has also been long lasting and deeply involved. These are just a few of the major involvements Letty actively participated in until her health no longer allowed her. She also was adamant about keeping Filipino History alive. She will be deeply missed.
