Karla Margaret Kuhl recently joined her parents Charles and Patricia Kuhl and her brother Kurt Kuhl with God in Heaven. Karla was born and raised in Stockton and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1972. She attended San Joaquin Delta College and received her Bachelors degree in Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley in 1976. She later earned her Masters in Business Administration from Sacramento State University.
Karla used her many talents and knowledge in her work at American Savings, Hope Ministries, Goodwill Industries, the City of Stockton, and lastly, with San Joaquin County, where she worked as a Contracts Analyst. After retiring, she often spoke fondly of her colleagues.
Karla will be greatly missed by her brother, Kris Kuhl, her sister-in-law, Michelle Kuhl, and her nieces, Melissa (Mike) and Kayla Kuhl, and her many friends.
Karla inherited her love of baseball and football from her father, Charles. She loved the San Francisco Giants, the 49ers and Raiders, and her alma mater - the California Golden Bears. She also rooted for the Stanford Cardinal, except when Big Game time came around. Kris has many fond memories of going to Giants games at Candlestick Park with Karla in her tiny blue Honda Civic. Kris and Karla had the same tastes in music and made annual trips to Tower Records in Lincoln Center on Christmas Day and road trips to the record stores on Telegraph Avenue in Berkeley. Karla gave Kris many albums over the years, including her Beatles records - sparking a life-long obsession for him.
Karla’s family is very grateful to the staff and administration of Lincoln Square Post-Acute Care in Stockton for their loving and considerate care for Karla since her stroke in 2016. Services for Karla will be held in Stockton in January but limited to family members due to COVID restrictions. In lieu of sending flowers, please make a donation to a charity of your choosing.
