Janet M. McGill

Janet McGill was born February 17, 1947 in French Camp, California to the late proud parents Truman & Myrtle McGill. She was reared in a Christian home, at an early age she accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, at Greater Friendship Baptist Church. She served as Bulletin Clerk, Culinary Chairperson for Bereavement Committee, prepared special programs for Pastor and Wife appreciation, church anniversary & senior citizen banquet. Janet was a member of the Matron’s auxiliary, and supported various auxiliaries pf the church. She was a strong supporter for the youth department. She assisted the Pastor and church wherever there was a need. Janet enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren on special outings especially the beach. She loved to cook and taught her grandchildren how to cook. She will always be remembered as one of the best cooks, preparing famous peach cobbler, red velvet cake, lemon cake, and don’t forget the big pots of Gumbo. Janet worked on various jobs namely, San Joaquin General Hospital, FMC, Teletech, County of San Jose, Ca. Juvenile probation office in Stockton Ca. Her last employer was Work Net of San Joaquin, she retired after nine years. Janet is preceded in death by her father and mother, Truman & Myrtle McGill, and her brother Truman McGill Jr. Left to cherish her loving memories are her devoted children, Mia King (Truman), Kevin Johnson, Chad McGill (Cheryl), Henry Johnson Jr, (Mary), Khadijah Miller (Demond), and Lakeisha Johnson. Grandchildren : Aysia King, Majenta King, Amber McGill, Kyle Johnson Hayes, Keyanna Miller, Alaina Johnson, Damon Miller, Brooklyn Johnson, & Ashley Holland. Three sisters Delores McGill, Phyllis Sanders (Eaph) , Sharolyn Winfrey (Milton). Two aunts, Ruth Johnson , Houston Tx, Francine Cole Little Rock AR. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family, Hubert Wilson (Kookie), Laura and Mack George, and Diane Lee of Pasadena Ca. She will missed by Galilee Church Family & other relatives and friends.
