Jack was born March 23, 1935 in Santa Rosa, California to Jack and Minnie Meyers Sr. They moved to Centralia, Washington and lived there until Jack was 10 years-old. After his mother’s passing, the family moved to Stockton, where he attended Stockton schools.
Jack joined the United States Army in 1953 and served in Korea.
He resided in Lodi for over 20 years and then moved back to Stockton in 1980.
Jack had a rewarding career as a protection specialist at Pacific Gas & Electric Company.
He enjoyed building and flying model airplanes, traveling and get-togethers with the family.
Jack is survived by his wife, Pat; children, Ron Meyers of North Bend, WA, Sherry Kaven (Dan) of Longmont, CO, Debbie Esparza (Efrain) of Lodi, and Steve Smith (Deborah) of West Sacramento; his grandchildren, Judy Abolafya (Ari) of Renton, WA, Cari Bogart (JB) of North Bend, WA, Alisa Kaven of Colorado Springs, CO, Leslie Ulferts (Eric) of Lodi, Efrain Esparza Jr. of Lodi, Vanessa Esparza of Stockton, Ariana Esparza, of Lodi, Michael Smith of West Sacramento and the late Jon Kaven of Longmont, CO; great-grandchildren, Nathan and Natalie Fornito of Lodi, Olivia Ulferts of Lodi, Emma Bogart of North Bend, WA and Asher, Adella and Ezra Abolafya of Renton, WA; and niece, Kim Tibbedeaux (Ken) of Portola.
A visitation will be held from 3-7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 6, 2014, followed by funeral services at 10 a.m. August 7 at the Frisbie-Warren and Carroll Mortuary located at 809 N. California Street, Stockton, CA. Interment follows at Cherokee Memorial Park, Hwy. 99 and Harney Lane in Lodi.
