In loving memory of our beloved Gregory Allen Zavala (Goyo) born in Tracy, CA on November 21, 1950 who passed on March 25, 2025. He is survived by his beloved wife Mary of 27 years and cherished 7 children, 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Gregory is remembered as a wonderful husband, father, son, and brother. Truly an amazing friend, no one wanted to lose. A man who stood by his word, kindhearted but firm. He grew up on Conway then joining the Marine Corps, later finding himself as the USA Olympic Wrestling coach. His adventure did not stop there, he became a police officer, a teacher, and finally principal of Fraklin High School. The Man, The Myth, The Legend.
He will be truly missed, but never forgotten. His mentorship touched the lives of thousands, guiding them through life’s journey. He believed in others when no one else would, offering hope, structure, and unwavering support. A true blessing, he was a person who not only cared but profoundly impacted countless lives. We don’t say goodbye, we say, ‘Until we meet again.’
A life that touches others goes on forever. No farewell words were spoken, there was no time to say goodbye. You were gone before we knew it and only God knows why. You may be gone from my sight but you are never gone from my heart. Love you forever babe.
