Frances Quinn passed away on April 21, 2015 at the age of 82. Fran was born in Stockton and spent most of her life here. She attended St. Agnes Elementary and St. Mary’s High School. Following two years at Delta College, Fran graduated from Dominican College in San Rafael and earned her teaching credential. She taught in Fairfield, CA and at the Air Force Base in Newfoundland, Canada prior to returning to teach at John Adams Elementary in Stockton for over 30 years. During her years at John Adams, she cared for and about many students, particularly her long-time friend, An Do.
Following her retirement in June 1992, Fran enjoyed many new activities and adventures. She traveled to Ireland with her two sisters and enjoyed several trips meeting with friends she had met through the internet. Her hobbies included bonsai training, sailing and adopting and loving dogs of all shapes and sizes. Fran was an avid reader, a master internet communicator and a docent at Oak Grove Nature Center. She always enjoyed a hearty family gathering.
Fran is survived by her sister, Sister Carol Quinn OP, her nephews and niece, Jim Holm and Tom and Chris Moore, her great nephews Matt and Brian Moore, their wives and children.
A memorial service will be held on April 30 at 10am at St. Bernadette’s Catholic Church, 2544 Plymouth Rd, Stockton, CA. A reception will follow the service.
