Donna May (Gillett) Johnson passed away on August 31, 2012 after 91 wonderful years. Donna May was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota and graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College cum laude. Donna May married William Edward Johnson, a Marine captain, on December 8, 1945 and they moved to the Stockton, California area where they raised their family. Donna May believed in service to her community. She was a youth leader with 4H and Campfire Girls for over 20 years. She was docent for the Haggan Gallery and a dedicated and honored member of the Linden United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband Bill Johnson; her three children: Janice Kissee, Jeanne Bauer and Douglas Johnson; her seven grandchildren: Jennifer Baley, James Kissee III, Amanda Bauer, Michelle Bauer-Bergoch, Karissa Bauer, Alicia Powell, and Lindsay Johnson; and her nine great-grandchildren: Briea Baley, Beau Baley, Ella Baley, Creek Kissee, Ciean Kissee, Alani Kissee, Kylie Powell, Kyra Powell and Mia Powell. A visitation will be held on Friday, September 7, 2012 from 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM at Frisbie-Warren & Carroll Mortuary, 809 N. California St. in Stockton. A graveside service will follow at the Stockton Rural Cemetery. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 9, 2012 at 12:00 PM at Linden United Methodist Church. A luncheon will follow in Mission Hall. Memorials are preferred to the Linden United Methodist Church or to a favorite charity. Frisbie-Warren & Carroll entrusted with the arrangements.
