Billie Lee Singer, 82, passed away Sept. 16, 2015, after a long illness. Billie was born March 28, 1933, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Violet Manzer and Leonard Manzer before the family moved to Stockton, CA, in 1941. Billie attended Woodrow Wilson Elementary School and met the love of her life, Garold "Jerry" Singer as a freshman at Stockton High School. Billie and Jerry were married Feb. 25, 1951, and celebrated 63 years of marriage before Jerry's passing Dec. 5, 2014. They lived an active and full life together, raising three children and also being dedicated to their professions. Billie worked as a Student Accounts Officer for 35 years at University of the Pacific. She also enjoyed attending UOP basketball games and attending San Francisco Giants games with Jerry. Billie was the heartbeat of her family, and her most enjoyable moments were those spent with her family and close friends. After Jerry's passing, Billie made the courageous decision to make a move to O'Conner Woods Retirement Center, where she met some amazing people. Her family will always be grateful for the loving care she received there after becoming ill. Billie will be deeply missed by all those who dearly loved her, but she left a legacy and spirit to live on in each one of us. Billie was also preceded in death by her loving stepfather, Ralph Trotter, sister, Jean Ann Banchero, and brother-in-law, Ed Banchero.
