Betty was born in Los Angeles, CA to Bill and Gladys Filippen. Betty and her family liked to fish, camp out, and hunt deer. She went to Stockton HS, took some night courses and worked at a hardware company where she excelled in what would become her trade, bookkeeping. She met the love of her life, Mike, at that very store. She was a devoted mother of two sons, Mark and Scott. She attended every football game, track meet and any event her boys were involved with. She enjoyed family trips to Hawaii, dancing with her husband Mike, and being with her grandchildren.
Betty is preceded in death by her father and mother, her beloved husband Mike, and her sons Mark and Scott.
Betty is survived by her sister, Susan, her grandchildren Mikaela, EJ, Scottie, Hunter & Hailey, her niece Stacy who is like a daughter to her and Stacy’s husband Nino, her niece Shelly and her great nephew, Kyle. Her loving heart led to a bonus grandchild, Gavin, who knows her as “nana” and a bonus son, Jimmy. She had many devoted and loving friends that love her and miss her smile and sense of humor. Her voice was like that of a “Songbird” as one of her friends would call her. Her gentleness, kindness and generosity were her calling card. Rest our sweet Songbird with your children and husband in heaven. You are missed and so well loved!
