Shirley was born in Atlanta Georgia and attended Bass High School and Truett McConnell College in Cleveland Georgia. Retired from the IRS. She was a member of Kirkwood Baptist and Stone Mountain First Baptist Church.
She absolutely loved cooking and caring for her family, along with every kid that showed up in the neighborhood to the house she spent most of her life in Stone Mountain Georgia. She moved to Covington Georgia in the early 1990’s to be close to her family and continue the unconditional love she gave. She was the original “extreme coupon lady”. Her love for her family and her Lord shone through everything she did. She never had a harsh word to say about anyone.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Otto and Mrs. Ruth Ransome. She leaves to cherish her memory one brother, Harley W. Ransome (Susan); Two nieces, Teresa D. Baker (Kevin) and Katherine Anne Colby (Shayne); one nephew, Jeffrey L. Ransome (Terri); Great Nieces and Nephews: Lauren Harley Baker, Karie Dean, Alyssa Scales, Jacob Ransome, Robyn Rhoton, Creacy Ransome, Langdon Beasley, Kaitlynn Pugh, Connor Colby, Kristopher Colby, and Shay Colby; and Great-Great Nephews and Niece: Asher Cheeley, Paxton Dean, and Alayah Scales
