Shirley was born on January 21, 1940 in Unicoi, Tennessee, and the daughter of predeceased parents, Leroy and Ida Hopson. She is survived by her four children, Gina Geeslin (Mark) of Barnesville, Georgia, Bobby Lee Barnett, Sr. (Angie) of Gay, Georgia, Kelly Stanley (Ricky) of Morrow, Georgia and Dana Jones of Stockbridge, Georgia. She is also survived by her six grandchildren, Bobby Lee Barnett, Jr., Stephen Geeslin, Nicholas Geeslin, Johnathan Barnett, Sumer Jones and Stormie Fisher; great-grandson, Gavin Geeslin; sister, Marilyn Gail Snow of Conyers, Georgia; a host of other relatives and family friends.
Shirley loved her family and cherished every moment spent with them. She devoted her life living out God's word and she loved everyone the way Jesus intended for us to. Shirley was also a loyal University of Tennessee Volunteer fan and loved anything the color purple.
The Celebration of Life for Shirley Ann Barnett will be held on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at 10:00AM at Horis A. Ward Funeral Home-Fairview Chapel, 376 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, Georgia 30281, where Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 from 5:00PM-7:00PM. Interment will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens.
