SHELTON, Sheila February 20, 1938 - January 1, 2013 Sheila K. Shelton passed away on New Year's Day surrounded by family. Born and raised in Atlanta, she earned a BFA at the University of Georgia. The only child of Evelyn and Thomas Hughes, she was caring, loyal and generous to friends and family. Creative and intelligent with a keen interest in genealogy, history and politics, she used her considerable talents to impact issues and challenges about which she was passionate. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Henry County Republican Party. A talented writer, she and her husband, Andy, were authoring a book chronicling the history and provenance of churches of Henry County. Sheila met life's challenges on her own terms and will be remembered for her character, determination, patriotism and integrity. She is survived by her beloved husband, Andrew J. Shelton; mother, Evelyn T. Hughes; daughters and their spouses, Charlotte L. Shelton-German and David German; Julie Shelton Mastroianni and John Mastroianni; grandson, Thomas L. Mastroianni; niece, Dona Archer; niece and her spouse, Diana and Gil Gonzales; aunt, Mary Trammell; cousin and her spouse, Linda and Frank Dodds and numerous extended family and friends.
