Robert "Bobby" Dean Murphy

Bobby was born September 10, 1950 in St. Mary's, Maryland to Mary Baker and George Murphy. He graduated high school in 1968 and entered the Air Force. He was larger than life and adored by everyone. He enjoyed fishing and lottery scratch offs. He loved rock-n-roll and absolutely loved everything Disney. It was Mickey Mouse and his love for Disney movies that soothed him during his transition.

Bobby married Ruby Tankersley on August 29, 1969 at Benteen Hills Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, James Fields, Jr. (wife, Diane Fields) and Larry Murphy (wife, Laura Murphy).

Bobby's life will forever be remembered by his wife, Ruby Murphy; children, Angela McIntyre (husband, Michael McIntyre) and Robert Murphy Jr. (wife, Lauren Murphy); grandchildren, Brandon Atkinson and DeAnna Gore; great-grandchildren, Emily McIntyre and Maverick Atkinson; sister, Linda Slade (husband, Bill Slade); a host of other relatives and family friends.

Visitation for Bobby will be held on Sunday, March 27, 2022 from 4:00PM-7:00PM at Horis A. Ward - Fairview Chapel, 376 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, Georgia 30281, where a Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, March 28, 2022 at 2:00PM (family will also greet friends from 1:00PM-2:00PM on Monday).
