Matilda Louise Kirby, age 94, of Atlanta, GA, passed away Thursday, June 22, 2017. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 25th, at Horis A. Ward Funeral Home - Fairview Chapel at 2:30pm, with Rev Jack Nelson officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens.
She was a loving, thoughtful and kind mother to her children and wife to her husband. She was helpful to her elderly neighbors.
She was a native of Atlanta and raised by a wonderful mother in East Atlanta. She was a long time and devoted member of Eastland Road United Methodist Church.
She is preceded in Death by her mother, husband, 7 brothers, 2 sisters and daughter; Mary Kirby.
She is survived by her sons; George R. & Helen Kirby, Hubert C. & Linda Kirby and Ralph E. Kirby & Chloe Stany, daughters; Barbara & Bill Maguire, Nancy Kirby and Dorothy & Eddie Lester and many grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
