Marion Ted Buffington

Ted was born October 18, 1937 in Atlanta, GA to Jack and Ellene (Elliott) Buffington. After retiring from the United States Coast Guard, he worked in the auto-body repair business for the majority of his career and worked several years for the City of Morrow as a Paramedic and Fireman.

On April 10, 1960, he married Vivian Ruth Lee. Together they have four children, eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Ted was known for his quick wit and making people laugh and smile. He loved kidding and playing with children and they loved him in return. He was a cut-up a lot of the time but most importantly, he loved living for God ALL of the time.

He was preceded in death by parents, Jack and Ellene Buffington; brother, Andy Buffington; and sister, Myra Booth. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 1/2 years, Vivian R. Buffington; daughter, Faith (Jewell) Strickland of Jackson, GA; sons, Teddy (Susan) Buffington of Colorado Springs, CO; Charlie (Cher) Buffington of Rockport, TX and Tim Buffington of Baker, MT; grandchildren, Joey, Kayla, Kaci, Parker, Andy, Zach, Abel and Natalie; brother, Danny Buffington; sisters, Jane Hudgins, Carol Johnson, Brenda Hill and Alice Johnson.

A visitation of family and friends will be held for Marion on Monday, October 18, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Horis A. Ward Funeral Home - Fairview Chapel | 376 Fairview Rd, Stockbridge, Georgia 30281. A celebration of his life will immediately follow at 1:00 PM in Ward's Chapel. Service will conclude with a graveside committal at Fairview Memorial Gardens | 164 Fairview Rd, Stockbridge, Georgia 30281.
