Linda Faye Martinez

Linda was born November 7, 1946 in Atlanta, GA to the late Robert and Sarah Rowan. In 1963, Linda married the love of her life, Mr. Ruben Martinez. To their union, two daughters were born, Vicky and Cathy. They also welcomed one son, Jeffery Martinez, who passed away shortly after birth. Linda was a loving wife and mother who dedicated herself to making a happy home and life for her family. She volunteered her time at Tara Elementary school, where she enjoyed supporting children in their daily activities. Linda was also a former member of Forest Park Church of Christ. Additionally, Linda previously served as Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Ellenwood Chapter at Rex Lodge. She was loved tremendously and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Robert and Sarah Rowan and sisters, Patricia Culver and Carolyn Boaz, Linda was preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, Mr. Ruben Martinez and infant son, Jeffery Martinez. She leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters, Vicky Myers (Troy) of Ellijay, GA and Cathy Treadway (Ed) of Locust Grove, GA; eight grandchildren, Corey Myers (Michelle) of Toccoa, GA, Ashlee Tucker (Ewin) of Gallatin, TN, Jesse English (Briana) of Morrow, GA, Alex English (Amber) of Piedmont, SC, Eddy Treadway of Ellenwood, GA, Randy Treadway (Mary) of Pikeville, NC, Jessica Treadway of Locust Grove, GA, and Nicky Banks of Manchester, GA; eleven great-grandchildren, Lily Myers, Madelynn Myers, James Myers, Benjamin English, Savannah Jones, Hunter Jones, Aiden Badillo, Tyson Collins, Savannah Treadway, Kinsley Treadway, and Aaron Treadway; and three siblings, Barbara Bunn, Phillip Rowan, and Robert Rowan.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation being held on Friday, June 4, 2021 from 4:00PM – 6:00PM at Horis A. Ward Funeral Home – Fairview Chapel | 376 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, GA 30281. A celebration of Linda’s life will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2021 in the chapel of Horis A. Ward Funeral Home at 2:00PM, immediately followed by a graveside committal service in Fairview Memorial Gardens | 164 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, GA 30281.
