Lillie Marylou Messer

Mrs. Messer was born December 2, 1952 in Atlanta, GA to her parents, Mattie Mitchell and Allen E.A. Smith. To their union, The Messers welcomed two children, Ronnie and Tanya. Marylou was employed within the retail industry by way of Kmart Corporation, where she retired after 20 years; as well as retiring from Toys R Us after 15 years. In her spare time, she enjoyed several shows on television, couponing and bargain shopping, loving her pets and grandchildren, and cheering on the Atlanta Falcons.

Mrs. Messer is survived by her beloved husband, Mr. Danny Messer of Stockbridge, GA; one son, Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Messer (Alice) of Atoka, TN; one daughter, Tanya Messer of Stockbridge, GA; four grandchildren, Mercedes Messer of Stockbridge, GA; Jacob, Ethan, and Nathan Messer of Atoka, TN; four sisters, Lottie Hyde of Lavonia, GA; Diane Anders of Douglasville, GA; Cathy Smith of Stockbridge, GA; Tammy Carder of Hiram, GA; and mother-in-law, Lillie Addie of Stockbridge, GA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mattie Mitchell and Allen E.A. Smith; and three brothers, Howard, Gary, and Ricky Smith.

Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Friday, December 20, 2019 from 4:00-8:00PM and Saturday, December 21, 2019 from 10:00-11:00AM at Horis A. Ward Fairview Chapel, 376 Fairview Road Stockbridge, GA 30281; where a celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, beginning at 11:00AM followed by a graveside committal at Fairview Memorial Gardens.
