

Jean was born on November 5, 1924, in Kingsport, Tennessee. She was immediately adopted by Joe and Aubry Faulkner Jennings.
As a young child, Jean went to school in Pine Ridge, South Dakota on an Indian Reservation where her father, Joe Jennings was Superintendent of Education. They traveled all over the southeastern United States.
Jean went to high school in Alexandra, Virginia where she fell in love and married Paul Henry O’Brien on September 20, 1942
Jean was a secretary at a high school in Whitwell, Tennessee, and a secretary in the Alumni Department at East Tennessee State University for twenty plus years. She retired and moved to Stockbridge, Georgia in 1996 where she resided until her passing.
Preceding her in death was her husband Paul, mother” Aubry Faulkner Jennings; father, Joe Jennings and brother; Rodney Paul Jennings.
She is survived by her three daughters: Carolyn Jean McInturff, Paula Joe Newbold (Bill), Margaret “Peggy” Smith (Clyde). Granddaughters: Aubry Elizabeth Newbold Boydstone (Joby) and Michelle Elizabeth O’Brien. Grandsons: William Hoskins Newbold II (Allea), Christopher Paul Newbold (Hillary). Great-grand daughters: Taylor Larkey Williams (Asa) and Theresa Alexandra Boydstone, Alexas Mary Newbold, Ava Elizabeth Newbold and Madison Elizabeth Stanley-Mohlenhoff. Great-grandsons: William Hoskins Newbold III, Austin Nathan Newbold, Dayvon James Duncan and Noah Terrell Duncan. Great-great grandson: Kamden Brooks Williams.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am at Bethel United Methodist Church, 245 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, Georgia 30281 on December 18, 2021. Visitation will start at 10:00 am at the church.
