James Earl Cochran, age 69, passed away in Stockbridge, Georgia, on Saturday, August 30, 2014. He was born February 7, 1945, in Morganton, Georgia, to Joseph and Bessie Cochran.
James will be especially remembered for his love of camping and being a jokester. He worked with sheet metal for 40 years, and also enjoyed fishing, Bluegrass festival, and casinos. James was a member of Georgia Good SAMS Chapter 33.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy; son, Chris Thompson and wife Michelle; granddaughter, Caydence; brother, Loran Cochran and wife Shirley; sisters, Ethel Smith and husband Benny, Marie Brooks; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 3 p.m., on Tuesday, September 2, at the Horis A. Ward Fairview Chapel funeral home in Stockbridge. Interment will follow at the Fairview Memorial Gardens cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 5-8pm.
