Jacqueline Denise Bascoe, age 56, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 16, 2018. She was born September 16, 1961 in London, England to Sidney George Bascoe and Estella Agatha Bascoe. Jacquie migrated to Kingston, Jamaica at the age of 7 where she lived her earlier years with an aunt and uncle whom she also called "mom" and "dad". She attended Saint Richard primary school in 1970-1978. Jacquie migrated to the United States with her parents to gather her education from New York to Chicago. In 1989, she migrated to Atlanta, Georgia to pursue a career in accounting. Throughout creating a life for herself and her daughter, Jacquie enjoyed interest in reading books of various authors, creative writing, needle crafting, drawing, music and was best known for her amazing cooking abilities. Jacquie's presence could bring light to any room she entered. She was very intelligent, beautiful, talented, kind, nurturing, hardworking, and humorous, bringing smiles and laughter to everyone she touched.
After 25 + years of living her career as an accountant, Jacquie found a new calling in life. In 2004, she changed her career path to become a CNA in the medical field. She worked in the medical field for 5 years, having a positive impact on a lot of people. It was her dream to pursue a career in nursing. In 2013, Jacquie's health took a turn, where she was unable to continue to be in the workforce. In 2015, she suffered a massive stroke for the second time in her life due to complications of a long battle of living with diabetes, where she remained in a nursing home until she transitioned to be with The Lord.
Jacquie is survived by her only daughter, Keturah Thomas; sisters, Margaret Bascoe, Opal Bascoe, and Geraldine Bascoe; nephews, grand nieces, and grand nephews.
Memorial services will be held for Jacqueline on September 15, 2018 at Kennedy Memorial Gardens at 1:00 pm.
