Nellie, you n your beloved enriched my life in so many ways. My favorite quote of his, on thankingsgiving, your brother Gary was moving a lil too slowly for Mr Couch. He yelled, from your front porch "c'mon Gary! Whut the He-yooo (hell)". I loved him deeply and will always be indebted to you both for the very special gift that is Jeannie. Kiss him for us LORD. Love you Mrs Couch. Will be loving on you soon. In the meantime, sweet saint, woman-of-God, I am praying for you and your loved ones, always.

Granddaddy you will be missed so much you were so much more than a father in law for the last 35 years you have been like a dad to me. You were a great husband, father,granddaddy and great granddaddy. I have so many memories of you , Justin and the babies you loved us with all your heart and we love you. I am so glad we have so many memories with you at the beach and ballfield. Love and miss you big. I know you will be at all the games and be their biggest cheerleader. Thanks for being such a great role model to all the boys. Love you!

Dear Nellie and Jeannie -

I was so sad to hear about Jerry.   My heart goes out to you!

It was always so nice to catch up with him at the APCO Holiday Party.  He was very charming and so supportive of both your careers.

May fond memories bring you comfort in the days ahead.





I don’t think I’ll ever be able to forgive myself for not going to see you more when I could have, I wish you could have seen and held my daughter more than you did, I always looked at you as my hero and a great Christian man, I wish I could of hugged you one last time. I miss you so much granddaddy, you were the best husband, father, grandfather, friend, and a true example of an honest business man. I love you granddaddy, and you will always be remembered by so many ppl whose lives you changed by your kindness, especially mine because you were my super hero. You were an angel God sent to all of us! This is hard to swallow but I know your in  a better place now. And I know now you can help guide me through these horrible last days! I love you granddaddy more than I’ was ever able to express. I miss you and love you so much, I’ll always be your champ! I know your waiting for me in heaven, so I will see you when my time comes. I will always remember Jerry in our Sunday School class and out front greeting everyone as they entered. A man who truly loved the Lord.

Grandaddy, 13 years ago you welcomed me and the kids into your home and we never left.  You and grandmama always treated us like your own.  Your love and heart was like no other and our lives are so much better because of you.  You are someone to look up to and cherish and forever will be in our hearts.



I had the honor of this great man becoming my grandaddy at the age of 6. Even though I don't remember to much when I was younger I do remember all the times I sat in Jerry's lap and he would always pinch my sides. He was the best man. If you had the honor of meeting him you wouldn't regret it.  He would always make sure to tell me he loves me and that he is proud of me. I am glad to know that he was able to watch me graduate from High School and he said he was so proud of me. I love this man so much and always will. Thank you Grandaddy for just being you and being the best man on this earth! You truly are a blessing. I know you went to go be with the Lord. I love you Grandaddy

Grandaddy even though I wasn’t biologically related I have known you all my life. You always made me feel like I was one of your grandbabies. I will always cherish many memories at the ball as you were clearly Justin’s biggest fan & that flowed over to Carver even when Justin was deployed. I could always hear Grandaddy’s voice as I sat with carver in the outfield. He was as good they come. RIP peace Grandaddy I hope the ballparks in heaven are ready.
