George Herbert Walker

George Herbert Walker, age 86, of Stockbridge, GA passed away on August 21, 2019. He was born to the late Herbert and Georgia Walker in Atlanta, GA on March 28, 1933. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1953 and served in the Korean War. He also served in the Reserves. He loved fishing and camping. He was a loving husband, and a loving father. All who know and love him will miss him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother; James Wesley Walker and his sister; Peggy Lorraine Walker.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife; Mary Laura Walker, his son; Jeff (Donna) Walker, his daughter; Kelli (TJ) Williams, his grandchildren; Jarrett Walker, Lauren (Eric) Swint, Aaron Williams and Rachel (Josh) Grubbs, his great grandchild; Laura S. Walker and his sister; Delores Lauth.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Southern Grace Hospice for all of the attention, care and kindness that was shown to their loved one. Words cannot begin to express the gratitude that they have.

Family and friends will be received for a visitation on Sunday, August 25, 2019 from 6 PM to 8 PM and on Monday, August 26, 2019 from 10 AM to 11 AM at Horis A. Ward Funeral Home located at 376 Fairview Rd in Stockbridge, GA. A graveside service will take place immediately after the visitation on Monday at Forest Hills Memorial Park located at 722 Conley Rd in Forest Park, GA.
