Hilda transitioned from this life into eternal glory on May 15, 2022, surrounded by loved ones, peacefully, softly, music enveloping her as she reached her final destination.

Hilda was a firm believer that anything worth doing, was worth doing "exceedingly well." Her life revolved around her Faith & Family. Hilda had a green thumb, was a gourmet cook & baker, and seamstress; this was reflected in the wonderful meals she prepared, vegetables and flowers she grew, the dresses she sewed her daughters & granddaughters, sweaters and vests she knitted for loved ones, friends & dogs! Hilda's friends, neighbors, and fellow parishioners were often the benefactors of her healing soups, delicious meals, as were the ill or grieving in the church she served so well, St. James the. Apostle, McDonough, Georgia.

Hilda was steadfast in her Faith & just as straightforward in her verbiage. Hilda survived many obstacles, challenges , & illnesses throughout her lifetime; it was always her Faith that saw her through any challenge.

Hilda was preceded in death by her parents, Paul & Angela Amrein; two brothers, Ludwig Amrein and Walter Amrein; her devoted husband, Joseph; daughter, Linda Hill; and grandson, Paul Saylor.

She is survived by one daughter, Susan Brooks; one son, Terry Lee (Elena); grandchildren, David Hill (Sabrina), Kevin Hill, Angela Walker (Chris), Theresa Watts (Justin), Christopher Brooks (Jessica), and Daniel Lee; great grandchildren, Connor Hill, Haleigh Connor (David), Ashley Watts, Arianna Watts, Aubree Watts, Kempter Watts, Kyland Watts, Brennan Brooks, Roland Brooks, Avery Clayton, and Jensen Watts.

A visitation of family and friends will be held for Hilda on Friday, May 20, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Horis A. Ward Funeral Home - Fairview Chapel | 376 Fairview Road Stockbridge, Georgia 30281. A celebration of life ceremony will immediately follow at 1:00 PM in Ward's Chapel. Services will conclude with a graveside committal service at Fairview Memorial Gardens | 164 Fairview Road Stockbridge, Georgia 30281.
