Eric Joel Robinson was born in Ellenwood, Georgia on February 5, 1974, to the late Reverend Larry and Annie Sue (Jackson) Robinson. He was the youngest of five children. God decided to call him home and he departed this life on March 26, 2024.
Born in a Christian household, Eric accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at a very early age and became a member of County Line United Methodist Church in Ellenwood Georgia, where he sung in the Junior Choir and the County Line Male Chorus.
Eric worked for FISERV until 2008 when his health would not allow him to perform his work duties.
He married Kimberly Bowens on February 13, 2009. With this union, their families were blended with Eric’s son, Tyler and Kim’s daughter Taylor. Together, Eric and Kim had one son, Bryce Kaden Robinson.
Eric was known as E-Lady to some, E to others, and baby brother to his siblings. Eric attended Cedar Grove Elementary and Cedar Grove High School in Ellenwood, Georgia. He graduated with the AWESOME AMAZING Class of 1992. Eric played and excelled in basketball. He also secured a spot as the first-string quarterback (#9) where he led Cedar Grove High School to their First State Championship in the history of the school. Eric was an extraordinary and exceptional field reader, to have never played football until high school. He had a gift and talent for the game. He would often change the plays after Coach Newberry would instruct him otherwise. By Eric reading the field and changing the plays, that is what led Cedar Grove to their first State Championship. Eric was big on education. He attended Tennessee Wesleyan and Savannah State. He graduated from Ashford University with a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education. He planned to use his degree by going back to Cedar Grove and becoming a teacher and a football coach. Eric loved Cedar Grove and looked forward to Homecoming and the Alumni Cookouts to hang out with his classmates. If Cedar Grove made it to the playoffs or State Championship, he would call his sister Sonya every day to make sure they were going to the playoff games. He kept up with everything that was going on at Cedar Grove. Eric was also the biggest Dallas Cowboy Fan. He had much love for the Dallas Cowboys all his life whether they were winning or losing. He was forever loyal to the Cedar Grove Saints, his Class of 1992, and the Dallas Cowboys.
Eric had a charming & charismatic personality and is known for his beautiful smile. Once you met him you would never forget him. He was extremely funny, charming, and confident. He was certain of himself and his abilities. He had a mouth that could start a fire but also calm a storm. He was always transparent, and you never had to wonder what he was thinking. His thoughts were always his words. But also, Eric had the biggest heart and would give you the shirt off his back. Eric would often provide monetary gifts to his nieces and nephews in college.
